The Thrills & Spills Of Extreme Snowboarding

For the More Advanced

Extreme snowboarding is a type of free ride snowboarding that is conducted over rough terrain. It frequently encounters obstacles such as ravines, cliffs, rock gaps, deep snow and many other types of obstacles one would find in a mountain environment. Extreme snowboarding is often tackled by riders with some advanced experience after they have already mastered such beginner opportunities as marked trails and gentle slopes. Backcountry snowboarding is often conducted in the wild and frequently has no patrols, lifts or other modern conveniences. This type of environment is often well suited for the aerial stunts and rides that many advanced riders like to perform. The extreme terrain of this type of snowboarding can also certainly add an element of thrill and risk.

Iowa Pheasant Hunting - What An Experience!

The ring-necked pheasant, native to Asia, was introduced to Iowa about 1900 after being successfully introduced to the North American continent in 1881.

Their introduction to Iowa was the result of a storm that destroyed the pens of breeder William Benton of Cedar Falls, freeing about 2,000 pheasants into the wild.

In 1910 the Department of Natural Resources began stocking the birds and today the ring-neck pheasant has become the premier game bird of Iowa

The combination of Iowa’s grasslands and croplands makes the state one of the top pheasant harvesting areas in the country. Many retailers refer to Iowa as the pheasant hunting capitol of the nation, making Iowa pheasant hunting an important part of the state’s economy

Champions Focus - Mental Toughness Under The Gun

How well do you focus when under pressure? Does your focus wander to the what ifs? What if I don’t get it done and blow a lead or embarrass myself?

In my work as a mental game expert, many of my students get caught in the mental trap of thinking too much about the *what ifs* or consequences of the outcome of a performance or game.

Having a clear goal of what you want to accomplish is critical to peak performance, but worrying too much about the end of the round, match, or game can be destructive to an execution-based (in-the-now) focus.

Wakeboard Fins

Many people are aware of the different uses and advantages of wakeboarding equipments but one of the overlooked parts of wakeboards is the wakeboard fins. These wakeboard fins are the ones that maintain the balance of the person in the wakeboard and keep the wakeboard going into the direction it is pointed to. The wakeboard fins are also responsible in making drags that in turn pulls down the rear of the wakeboard to track the water.

Is there really anything new under the sun when it comes to training? Perhaps nothing new, but innovation, maybe. As a consumer, bodybuilder, and overall purveyor of freaky muscle, this is how you must think of any workout that’s offered via magazine or website. It isn’t that there is so much out there you or I haven’t heard of at this point, it’s more about what we do with what we already know, to come up with something that is creative and becomes a means to a successful end.
