Before you get overwhelmed by the idea of writing an-book, remember that an e-book doesn’t have to be long. Some e-books go as little as 30 pages. It’s not the length that matters, but the quality of the content.
So now to the burning question–how do you exactly earn money from e-books? Here are just a few of the ways:
1.) Sell it upfront but in such a way that people will most likely buy it. You can do this by providing a teaser chapter for free with a note at the end stating interested readers can get the whole e-book for a price.
2.) Give away the whole e-book for free, but make sure the more interesting updates come with a fee. Write a short e-book that covers the basics of your topic and let it make its rounds online. Once it picks up successfully, you can write new chapters that expand on the topics covered by the original e-book. Readers who are clamoring for more will be likely to buy the next installments.
3.) Find an online publisher who will publish and advertise your e-book. You get to keep your byline so you can make a name for yourself. You also get royalties from the sales generated by your e-book. Although you have the online publisher to share your e-books sales with, remember that you are benefiting from the company’s advertising techniques which you wouldn’t be able to implement or afford otherwise.
