Bankruptcy Information - Relief From A Stay

Filing for bankruptcy issues an automatic stay from most action against the debtor from things like a foreclosure, lawsuit and even garnishments. The stay was enacted to keep the debtors property protected but the stay is not permanent. If you are a creditor they try to get relief from the stay by going after the debtor they must consult the judge assigned to the case first. There may be a hearing that the creditor must show cause as to why they wish to collect before the discharge of the bankruptcy.

Mortgage Industry Problems Good For Landlords Not For Tenants

The recent mortgage turmoil has many wondering about the impact on the economy, mortgage industry, and the real estate sector. As a landlord myself, I was curious to determine the affect of the market changes on the pool of tenants and future rental rates. For some answers, I went to a well respected mortgage broker, Steve Beecham, President of Hometown Mortgage in Alpharetta.

Steve is the former president of the Georgia Association of Mortgage Brokers, and his firm has been consistently in the top 10 mortgage brokers in volume in Georgia over the last four years.

Protecting Intellectual Property

“Lawsuits primarily benefit the attorneys and nobody else.”
- Bryce’s Law

INTRODUCTION

The protection of intellectual property should be a significant concern to all Information Technology organizations. Without protection, commercial hardware/software vendors would quickly evaporate as others would inevitably steal their designs and programs. Corporate developers would also suffer if their ideas, inventions, and programs were misappropriated thereby causing them to lose their competitive advantage. In fact, our corporate landscape and standard of living would be radically different if we had no such protection. Fortunately, the framers of the U.S. Constitution were wise enough to implement legislation safeguarding the authorship and ownership of literature, art, and inventions, thus causing the United States to flourish in the arts and sciences. But the advent of the computer caused us to reconsider how we safeguard such property. For example, the concept of a computer program has been a bit nebulous to some people; should the source code be protected by copyright? What about the object code (executable)? Attorneys have been debating this subject over the last thirty years and there is still
general confusion in the field.

Electrical Safety In And Around The Home

Electrical safety in the home – is of prime importance, yet it is probably something that we give little thought to.

When you consider that every year around 6700 fires are reported as having an electrical source, you can see just how important electrical safety really is. This statistic includes fires started by faulty or inadequate wiring. Accidents involving electric shocks are also a cause of fatality and serious injury. Some 43 fatalities and 2900 serious injuries occur from electrical faults every year.
